Welcome to The Write Mother, a new online literary journal for mothers who write and writers who are mothers. The Write Mother will be published four times a year.

We believe that motherhood is an experience, an evolution, that evokes creativity, introspection and new senses of perspective and direction. Each mother processes her emotions, ideas, experiences and philosophies differently. And writing provides one of the best outlets for writing, thinking mothers to explore it all.

Here, at The Write Mother, we are not literary elitists. We value the integrity, honesty, quality and content of well-written, thoughtfully orchestrated words by mothers of all types, including single mothers, adoptive mothers, mothers of color, surrogate mothers, married mothers, mothers of varied educational and socioeconomic backgrounds, mothers with considerable or limited publishing histories ... mothers who have something provocative, fresh, incisive, irreverent, emotive or striking to express, period.
